Rajasthan Education Initiative |
|
In furtherance of the State Government's
vision of an ICT empowered education for the children of Rajasthan
which would transform the education sector and bring an active
public-private partnership model Rajasthan Education Initiative was
launched. This has been put forward with the active involvement of
the World Economic Forum and Confederation of Indian Industry, as a
result of the discussions held by Hon'ble Chief Minister of
Rajasthan with leaders of the ICT industry during the World Economic
Forum meet at Davos in January, 2005.
The main objective of REI is to enrich the lives of students and
make them not merely computer literate but also to receive education
through computer and make themselves internationally competitive.
Beyond technology, it was decided to involve national and
international partners in social responsibility measures such as
adoption of indigent children, management of Schools, quality inputs
in mid-day meals and improvement of learning skills of children. We
are receiving excellent response from international ICT companies,
voluntary organizations and foundations for partnering in these
programmes. Till date 10 MoUs have been signed with organizations
like Microsoft, Intel, CISCO and Hiwell etc. |
